a little on...and then a whole lot more off!

Last week I put on 1lb.  I was NOT happy for 2 reasons:

Firstly - because it wasn't even on chocolate!  I had tonsilitis, and drank gallons of milky tea with honey.

Secondly - because I'm a competitive cow...yes really ;0) and I HATED the fact that I might be proving that I needed the WW groups!

Anyway - once I was better, I decided to make an extra special effort to stick to my points this week and I lost 4lbs!!!  Nothing like telling me I can't do something to make me do it!

So that means I now weigh 11 stone exactly and I'm now considered to be in the "ideal" weight range (albeit at the top end of it!).  Not bad considering just over 12 weeks ago I weighed 12st 9lbs! :0)

Overall - that's 23lbs down and only 14lbs more to go before I reach my overall goal of 10st...my wedding weight!  10.5 weeks until holiday...average of 1.3lbs per week - DEFINITELY do-able!

Onwards and erm....downwards! :0)

First week going solo and another milestone reached

First week of going it alone in the weight loss game...and 1lb off.  Only a small number but massively significant.  That 1lb has taken me to a total of 20lbs so far!!

Apparently, that's the same as a car tyre or the tuna in the photo below :0D

Next mini goal is 1 and a half stone which is only another 1lb away...fingers crossed for next week!

Who needs groups?!  Lou xxx

Friday 11 March 2011

Hmm.....how very befuddling!

So...missed weigh in last week - well - technically I skipped it.  In my defence I was supposed to be on a late shift.  I swapped the shift but then got spooked that I hadn't lost so...yup...I chickened out!  How ridiculous is that?!

Anyway...off I went last night for my weigh in at a new group.  Apparently the one I was going to was "too small" so the powers that be at WW had joined 2 groups up.  I hate it.  After queueing for about 10 minutes to get in, I was greeted by a seriously rushed 'leader' and a DIFFERENT SET OF SCALES!!!  Not happy.  These people constantly drum it into you how important it is to use the same scales blah blah blah...and then weigh you on different ones!!  **Ggrrr** So - on I hopped...silently seething...

"You've lost 1lb!"....1 flaming pound...in 2 weeks?!  Now I know I've been good, and done nothing differently so I wasn't impressed.  I took it on the chin, smiled sweetly and left the scales.  As I was choosing this weeks WW yummies I kept an eye on the other ladies being weighed.  It was then that I noticed that the vast majority of them seemed to be doing alot of head shaking and getting off and back on again - apparent;y there were a number of us questioning the accuracy this week!  (I love how people think that getting off and back on will change the figure though!) :0D

Then my friend weighed in..."You've stayed the same"  WHAT?!  She hasn't been for 3 weeks and, according to her Wii fit, she's lost 3lbs.  Unimpressed to say the least.

So - cut to the car park and our discussion about the new group.  We don't like it.  We're not going again.  We're not throwing the towel in - we're going to continue with the eating plan, and with having our weigh ins every Thursday...but now we're going to do it on our own.

So...I officially quit Weightwatchers (the groups - not the eating plan).

PS - I got home and weighed in on my Wii Fit which is what I'll be using from now on...3lbs off.  So - as of yesterday I'm 11st 4lbs.  I've passed my 10% goal and I've lost19lbs in total.

Weightwatchers is pretty fab (the eating plan - not the groups) ;0)

1lb...meh.

Well...that's it...not much to say really.  I lost 1lb this week. I feel a bit disappointed...everyone else is telling me not to be.  Looks like I'm gonna have to start putting some effort/exercise in to keep that weight coming off.

At least I'm still heading in the right direction.  16lbs total so far. :o)

Thursday 17 February 2011

120 large eggs...5 adult human brains...

2.5 average weight newborn babies;
2.5 human skins;
3 average sized chihuahuas, or...
67.5 newborn guinea pigs!!!

All of the above are examples of 15lbs in weight...that's the amount I've lost!!!  Yup - I lost another 5lbs this week (over 2 wks cos I missed weigh in last wk).

So that's 1stone and 1lb (let's not forget the extra lb!) in 6 weeks.  Chuffed does not even come close!

*smug* That's all I have to say. :0) x

who knows.....

Bit of a pointless blog this week really but I wanted to put down in writing that I'm disappointed that I can't weigh in this week.  Yes...I am disappointed that I can't step on those scales!  Haha...who'd have thunk it!

Ross is in bed with food poisoning bless him so I've obviously needed to stay home to look after Fin (and Ross!)

Selfish I know but I want to know what I've lost!!!!!Grin  I really look forward to weigh in (believe it or not!)and now I have to wait till next week!!
*grrr*  For what it's worth, my scales at home say I've lost about 2lbs but they're a bit temperamental so I'll have to wait another week for a definite answer.

On the plus side, last week I had 4lbs to go for my first stone...who knows...I might have reached it by next week?!

Thursday 3 February 2011

Phew...I got away with it!

So, after a fantabulous anniversary celebration, (and much over indulgence) I spent the rest of the week trying to make up for my naughtiness - counting points stringently and praying to the god of skinny that I would "at least stay the same".  Weigh in finally rolled around and ...I lost another pound!  PHEW...lucky escape haha!

I'm now 11st 13lbs...INTO THE 11's!!! :0) :0) :0)  The last time I was at this weight was well over 3 years ago.  But there's more...and this really IS good...

I measured myself 4 weeks ago, at the beginning of this journey.  Now...I'm brave/stupid enough to have disclosed my starting weight but I'm afraid I'm not willing to disclose my starting measurements.  All I will say is that in the last 4 weeks I've lost:

Left thigh: 1 inch
Right thigh: 1.25inches
Bum: 1 inch
Hips: 3.25 inches
Waist: 6 inches
Bust: 1 inch.

That's a total loss of 13.5 inches in 4 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roll on next weigh in...I'm on a roll! :0)

Whoop Whoooooooop!!!

Well people...here I am.  Another 2.5lbs lighter! :0)  12 stone...1 more pound and I'm into the 11's haha!!!

3 weeks in - 9lbs off.  I am now the roud owner of my first Silver 7 but...more importantly...my 5% weight loss goal has been reached!  I'm still 'overweight' but WELL on my way to being slim again.

My 'moment of the week' this week was most definitely putting on the black skinny jeans I bought about 6 weeks ago...they were enormous...so big that there was no way I could get away with wearing them!  My initial reaction was to be seriously irritated - I'd only just bought them!  Now I couldn't be happier!!

So...that's my weekly babble over.  Now I'm off for a glass of vino or 2 with my hubby to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary tomorrow.  I'm having a weekend off...but then it's strictly back on the wagon!

I LOVE WEIGHTWATCHERS!!!

I've done WW before (the old plan)  I felt like I was being starved, stuck to it like glue....and lost nothing...not a measly pound!  So I left and went to SW and LOVED IT!  I lost loads of weight and it just seemed to fall off effortlessly...then we found out we were having Fin so I stopped and just relaxed and enjoyed my pregnancy.

Cut to just over 2 and a half years down the line...and the weight's steadily climbed again to a point where I realised I really need to do something.  WW have opened a new group literally round the corner from my house and changed their plan so I thought, "meh...might as well give it a go".

2nd weigh in yesterday and another 2.5lbs down.  That's 6.5lbs in 2 weeks.  WHOOP WHOOP!!!!Grin  Oh..and I never feel hungry!

I guess it's official...I HeartWeightwatchers!

Difficult week this week though...I have a very special joint 2nd birthday party to go to on Sunday so I suspect there may be a few "extra" points consumed.  Keep 'em crossed for me!

Sunday 16 January 2011

Heading towards Silver 7 and 5% goal after 1st week!!

Thursday 13th January marked D-Day...the 1st weigh in on a long old journey.  I was on nights during the 1st week of the diet so, although I stuck to my points, my diet wasn't great as I was sleeping all day and snacking (on fruit and WW foods!) throughout my shifts.

I walked towards the scales and actually felt really nervous...it's amazing how motivating it can be to know that a complete stranger is going to see how "good/bad" you've been!  As I stepped on she asked me how I felt I'd done and I, pretty non-committally, replied: "I'll tell you in a second".  I was watching the scales the whole time, praying to the fat sucker outer gods to have removed enough to be acceptable.  I'd decided (probably not very sensibly) that I would not be satisfied with anything less than 4lbs...

...and there it was...4LBS OFF!!!!  I now weigh 12st 5lbs...still a loooooooong way to go but I feel like I'm off to a fantastic start, and I'm motivated to keep it coming off.  I'm hoping over the next few weeks I start to settle into using different recipes and snacks to put a bit of variation into the diet before I get bored...I'm easily bored when it comes to food!

So - I'm now half way through my 2nd week and looking forward (slightly nervously) to Thursdays weigh in...

Maybe another 3lbs and my Silver 7...or possibly 4lbs and reach my 5% goal?!?!

I'll let you know! :0)

Friday 7 January 2011

12st 9lbs at first weigh in...ouch!

So, I went along to my first WeightWatchers meeting last night and had my first weigh in.  TWELVE STONES AND NINE POUNDS.  There it is for all to see.

If I'm honest the scales didn't really tell me anything I didn't already suspect.  The last time I'd weighed myself I was 12st 6lbs...but it's been Christmas since then and if there was ever a person to use an occasion as an excuse to eat it's me!

I'm feeling really positive about this plan.  I think it's something I can stick to, the meeting's only round the corner, and the group seems nice enough, but more importantly I think it will help me to change my eating habits.  On the new WW plan fruit is 0 points...so I'm sure it'll get me eating much more fruit instead of 'wasting' points on junk food snacks.  I also found out they do a Zumba class there on a Wednesday night so I might join that too...one step at a time though! ;0)

So - my next step is to put this blog on my FB account so everybody who wants to can see how I'm getting on and whether or not I lose each week...not sure if anybody will read it but, even if they don't, the thought that somebody might will help me to stay focused and motivated.

See you next friday - hopefully at least 1lb lighter! :0)
